From substantial completion to move-in ready
Post-construction cleaning is a different job from routine cleaning. The dust is fine, it is everywhere, and it keeps settling for days. New finishes are easy to damage. Protective films, labels and adhesive residue have to come off without marking what is underneath. And the schedule is set by the handover date, not by the cleaning crew.
Impact runs post-construction work in four phases: an initial assessment of the space and its finishes, debris removal, detailed cleaning of every surface, and a final polish and inspection. Each phase is scoped in writing with the contractor or property manager so the crew knows what the trades have finished and what is still to come.
The focus on this site is commercial work: office fit-outs, retail builds, tenant improvements, common-area renovations and institutional or industrial projects. The aim is a hazard-free space that protects the new finishes and is ready for occupancy.

- FloorsHard floors scrubbed and, where specified, finished; carpet vacuumed and spot-cleaned; protective coverings removed.
- Washrooms and kitchensNew fixtures, counters, cabinets and appliances cleaned inside and out and sanitized.
- High-contact pointsHandles, switches, rails and hardware cleaned and sanitized before occupancy.
- Debris disposalWaste removed and disposed of through approved methods, coordinated with the site's waste plan.

How it runs
The four phases
1. Initial assessment
We walk the space with the contractor or manager, note finishes, protected areas and remaining trades, and agree the scope and the handover date.
2. Debris removal
Visible construction debris, packaging and coverings are cleared so detailed cleaning can start.
3. Detailed cleaning
Walls, floors, windows, fixtures, washrooms and kitchens are cleaned from the top down, with care for new finishes.
4. Final polish and inspection
Glass, stainless and high-visibility surfaces are polished, high-contact points sanitized, and the space is inspected against the scope for handover.

Scheduling is agreed for each project rather than promised in advance, because the cleaning window depends on when the trades finish. The assessment sets the plan.

Post-construction cleaning FAQs
When should post-construction cleaning happen?
After the trades have finished the dusty work and before furniture and people arrive. On larger projects it is often phased: a rough clean after debris is cleared, then a final clean before handover. The assessment sets the phases for your project.
Can you clean while trades are still on site?
Yes, in phases. Areas that are complete can be cleaned while work continues elsewhere, with the scope noting what is finished and what is protected. The final clean is scheduled once the remaining trades are out.
Do you remove protective film, labels and adhesive?
Yes. Film, labels and adhesive residue are removed from glass, fixtures and finishes as part of detailed cleaning, using methods that do not mark the surface underneath.
What about floors that need finishing?
Where the scope calls for it, new hard floors can be scrubbed and finished as part of the project, and carpet cleaned before occupancy. Ongoing floor care can then continue under a regular program.
Can you take over the regular cleaning after move-in?
Yes. Many post-construction projects lead straight into a commercial cleaning or janitorial program for the finished space, scoped during the same assessment.
